David’s passion for helping people inspired him to transition from a career in the corporate world to a career as a financial advisor. David works with clients at TruNorth to identify the life they want – both now and in the future – and how they can achieve it through a financial plan created just for them.

David helps his clients to mitigate their specific dangers and then to prepare to capture their unique opportunities. Clients appreciate that the advice David gives is different than what they would receive from other financial advisors. He never makes recommendations so that he can earn a commission. Instead, as a fiduciary, his advice always is in the clients’ best interests.

David is personally vested in his clients, helping them follow their TruNorth to maximize their wealth and reach their life goals. His understanding of tax and estate planning allows him to provide a level of service that goes beyond what is typically offered by other advisors and CPAs.

David worked in engineering, product management, and marketing roles with GE and 3M before starting his financial career with Northwestern Mutual and later CliftonLarsonAllen Wealth Advisors.

A native of Stillwater, Minnesota, David lives in Woodbury with his wife, Tera, and their three children, Benjamin, Andrew, and Henry. Outside of the office, David enjoys making regular trips to Disney World with his family; reading books on finance, politics, economics, and history; camping; enjoying movies, music and theater; and spending time with his children.

Our clients are savvy on personal finance and often handle the family accounts but are ready to partner with an advisor who can share in the Family CFO role. We give families peace of mind knowing that someone is available who understands their life and wealth goals and can help them stay on track to achieve them, both now and in the future.
